What is Keyless

Keyless is a biometric authentication company that specializes in privacy-preserving biometrics for consumer and workforce authentication. We protect banks, fintechs, and large enterprises globally, helping them prevent account takeovers, reduce authentication costs, and comply with regulatory requirements. Our flagship Zero-Knowledge Biometrics technology is unique in that it does not store biometric data anywhere and delivers built-in multi-factor security with just one look at the camera. Privately owned, we are ISO27001 and ISO30107 certified, hold both FIDO Biometrics and FIDO2 certifications, multiple patents, and have 50 employees across four offices worldwide.

The Keyless Network

The Keyless network comprises different server nodes that store the encrypted secret key and biometric information of users. These nodes interact with user devices to compute the 'closeness' between stored biometric templates and authentication samples. Conversely, users interact with the Keyless nodes to perform operations including enrollment of themselves and their devices to the network, and authentication to the system. Both the nodes and user devices run secure Multi-Party Computations, storing long-lived secrets, such as the user's cryptographic keys and other sensitive information, on the Keyless nodes as encrypted shares.

The Keyless Protocol

The Keyless protocol specifies the cryptographic operations carried out on the user device, including secret sharing and encryption of the seed and biometric template. It also defines the mechanisms for interaction between the user devices and the Keyless network nodes.
